Lady Eshinni (1182 - 1268) is the wife of our founder, Shinran Shonin. "Eshinni Day" was established in 1978 at the 6th World Buddhist Women's Convention. Since then, Jodo Shinshu temples have observed "Eshinni Day Service" to praise her virtue and her contribution every year.
